Especially in the case of the Revo, where storage is an issue .......... Coming soon to a store near you .....

Hobie's horizontal rod holder kit.
For protecting your rod/s when launching and landing your kayak.

The rod tip protector is made to withstand bumping in to docks, bridges, rocks, the beach, etc. Part #72021060

I've been told that they should be in stores around June or July according to Matt Miller on the Hobie forums.

Nice rod protector..better stow that reel as it won't be protected.

I could see that being very handy for bass fishing. Especially when you're trying to get far back in the reeds and under tree branches.

Did you read Morgan's post on the Hobie forums in regards to that (See my post above). He mentioned that "It will hold two larger rods and perhaps even three lighter rods. During testing, I had two 30 pound outfits stored with both tips in the tip protector and both butts in the clasp". Still no pics of multiple rods in the holders (more important, rods of the diameter that most of you use in La Jolla).

Here's an additional link with some pics that Morgan posted on the rod holders (one with them installed on an outback) http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=35650

They updated the post on the Hobie forums with additional pics with two rods in one holder, but they do not recommend doing that :(

I think it's a start and I'm sure someone will mod it to work for multiple rods for surf launching.

I have used the paddle bungies to hold up to 6 rods with the reels stowed. Went through plenty of waves just fine without coming loose. Not sure why you need the pocket and clamp but it will probably sell well anyway if you only want to carry one or two rods.
