Launched to small surf around 4:30. Pier was like a mackeral aquarium. Fairly persistant 8 knot wind out of the south. No real bird activity. Flotilla out around the 3/4 spot, yaks outnumbered the PBs about 5 to 1. Picked up my 12 or so pounder around 7:30 on the long lined greenie and saw others follow suit.........even another girlie one :D Headed in around 10 AM. Wife and kids are out of town, so me and the dog are feasting tonight. It is her 10th birthday and I was going to cook her up a steak, but she loves fish. :D
Nice aim. I'd be happy with a left over firecracker on my next outing.

Some of the group scored. I got one that was 10#. I thought I snagged a boat becuase some idiot just buzzed me, but then I realized my line was going in the other direction. Short window on the spot. But then a few were picked off a bit later away from the crowd.
Nice gaff job. Must be all the practice.

Thanks Rich,
I forgot to add any info...it was the 4th of July afterall... :D
Water was warm, and blue to somewhat aqua on Monday night, thought about diving Tuesday instead. But launched in the morning at 4:45AM, fish was caught around 8:45am in 78 ft of water, westside of Hotel, off a f/l spanish mackerel, 4/0 ringed Owner gorilla hook, #20 fluoro, to #50 spectra. I had all but given up, when ZZZZZZZ...ZZZ.ZZZZZ.....ZZZ The YT didn't smoke my clicker, so I thought it was another Calico.
Incidentally, I caught a personal best Calico in the same manner, near horseshoe (released) I think about 6lbs, pic doesn't do it justice, thanks Ken nonetheless.
