Don't get a Hobie replacement! THEY SUCK!!! I broke another one on opening night... yes another one... 3rd one this year! and I hardly ever use them except for launch and land... Spend a bit more money and get an aftermarket paddle, and don't waste any more of your money on Hobies cheap crap! Or even a cheap $35 plastic paddle will work better than the Hobie paddle. Yes, they were great about replacing it, but I hate not knowing when the next one will leave me powerless trying to get through the surf!:(

Wolfman--I've got a stock Hobie paddle and better yet, a fiberglass Cobra one-piece with about a 60 deg feather--very light with blade shape a bit better than Hobie for dealing with surf.
