Awesome looking reel. Hopefully in a few years they'll come out with a cheaper version.

Is that the rumor or verified? like I said not a big fan of shimano and thats one of the reasons. I will be looking at this year at the FHS if its there. If it comes in at a price comparable to the curados then maybe...

since there not out yet. rumored price, seen a couple boards where that price is mentioned but it's probably a regurgitated rumor bouncing around. but knowing shimano. sounds about right

What bass reel is going to handle 25lb yellow fin? I've caught my share of YF and 25lbrs would beat the hell out of any bass reel.

The folks at Shimano are brilliant at marketing and know what they are doing. I wouldn't pay $500 for that reel, but I'd bet it will be priced right when it does come out.

That reel would be a sweet yt set up for throwing the waxwing.

That Tranx looks nice. Since you guys mentioned the toro 50 and curado ej. Which do you like better? I've been looking to get a beefy bait caster that will last.

I would go with a revo toro.

i dont have a curado but a citica. citica has worked well in the salt, no problems.
the shimano VBS has little plastic weights that is easy to lose. the toro IBD has switches (for lack of a better term) for cast control. i dont even adjust the cast control, just use the thumb for cast control. so not that big of deal.
both are nice but i like my toro for it's size. all depends on what size reel you prefer, toro 50 are a little larger than curado's, toro 60 even bigger. they all need regular maintenance for saltwater use which is easy to do on your own.

It comes down to hand size...I have medium size hands so I prefer the curado more...if you have bigger hands then go with toro. Both cast very well and very simple to maintain. The other up in my opinion is the curado has a more comfy handle but the toro comes with two
