View Full Version : MBF @ Irvine 12/10/11
Some of us are getting together to fish Irvine on December 10th (Saturday). If there are enough kayakers we could do a "Money Between Friends."
MBF @ Irvine Lake:
1) The MBF will start at 6am and end at 1pm
2) Sign-in ends at @ 7:00am
3) Weigh-in will take place at the tackle store
4) Buy-in is $10
5) $$$ goes to the heaviest stringer (trout only)
6) The fish has to be caught from a kayak
7) California DFG and lake rules must be followed
* I plan to be at the lake by 5:30am. I'll be at the kayak launch in front of the tackle store to collect money. My cell is (213) 663-5243.
I linked the lake rules below...

So any idea of how many kayakers were talking about that might be going?
Maby we could get a group deal on entry costs?
If not anyone have a link to any online coupons for fishing there?

looks like the prices are pretty much in stone as this is a private lake, 22.00 a head, no license needed, big deal...but they stock big trout and kitties there, big enough for a sliegh ride on the yak, could turn out to be a big group, hopefully the weather cooperates...

You can launch at the boat ramp or the kayak launch closer to the tackle store. There are other kayak launch areas near Trout Islands as well.
Bring you kayak cart for either launch just in case.

$20 that there will be a Blue Xfactor getting escorted from the lake.
That lake just aint big enough for Frank.:)
Getting pretty excited boys, we only need 3 or 4 more guys to make it pay for my new G Loomis 8 foot rod.:the_finger:
Attention:
I'm in the process of getting us a group rate. We could each get in to the lake for $17. I will post an update by tonight and also pm kayakers that are attending.

We don't all have to be at the lake at the same time. Just show up between 6-7am and you're good.
Attention:
I'm in the process of getting us a group rate. We could each get in to the lake for $17. I will post an update by tonight and also pm kayakers that are attending. We were able to get a group discount for 17 adults at $17 per admission. There is no kayak launch fee. I will pre-pay the total tomorrow morning. When you get to the lake tell the staff you are with the "Money Between Friends Kayak Fishing Tournament." The staff will check your name off on a list (do not pay the staff). You will then go to the kayak launch parking lot (in front of the tackle store) and get your sticker from me and pay me for the lake entrance and $$$ for the MBF.
I will be in a white Nissan Frontier truck (Olive Hobie Revolution).
(213) 663-5243
Total: $17 + $10 = $27
* Guys that are camping on Friday night: tell the Irvine Staff the same thing. On Saturday morning you can pick up your sticker and pay $$ for the MBF in the same way.
** The 18th person on the list will not get a discount.
