Howzit guys,

My name is Jason. I havent really posted much on the forum so I figured I would introduce myself first. I go to physical therapy school in San Marcos and moved up here from Oahu. I am originally a spearfisherman converted to kayak fishing. I have been out a handful of times and am trying to figure out the calico bass fishing and hopefully go for the big boys when spring rolls around.

Any way. I had a question about the differences between all the curado reels (G series, E series. 200 vs 300 etc) Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone would be willing to sell one I would be stoked! Thanks guys. Enjoy the weekend. Aloha

Welcome. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will post up. But the big difference between the G and E for me is that the G series has anti-rust bearings. My old Curado seemed to need servicing every month. My new G series is going fine at 3 months and counting.

Not sure about the difference between e and g. Been kind of curious myself actually as i was interested in buying a 300. But in regards to the difference between the 200 and 300 i imagine its just the same as any other reel. Higher number the larger the reel (larger spool, line capacity, drag, etc).

the difference between the 200 and the 300 is size of the reel and the size of the spool thus more or less inches of line back on the spool per crank. The 300 is a bit larger than the 200. The 200 is great for the bays and the 300 is better suited for Calico/Sand Bass.

I think the E is last years model and the g is this years.

There are more differences, but you can go to cabbalas/bass pro/ tackle warehouse and do your home work. ;)

For calico fishing you may want to consider the 300EJ instead of the 300E. The 300EJ has a faster retrieve and comes with an ergonomic power handle. The EJ will let you crank calicos away from structure and kelp faster.

Yo Jason, my gf goes to USA and is in her second year of dual degree program. Good luck with school n hopefully I'll be able to find some time to fish.
