Lowrance FF

I been looking into switching to Lowrance FF from Hummingbird.
been looking at the HDS models, BUT there just out of my price range.
Try to keep it under $400.
Has anyone tried the Elite series FF, 4x or 4gold. Looks like the 4-gold is there newest in the elite series. Price is about right @ 369.99. The 4x I seen at basspro for $169.99. Can some one give me some feed back in these models.

Or should I just wait and save a little longer and get the HDS

Nobody will have much to say about the Elite 4 or Mark 4 series as of yet because Lowrance has not started shipping them.

Essentially they will be very similar to the other Compact units like the M68c, x-4, etc.

As for the Elite/Mark-5 series, We have installed a few and response has been good. This is the unit series I will be pulling on my new kayak this year. They are not much more and have a larger screen.
