:iagree:I use the Modified Albight.

Here is a vid that shows the modified albright is stronger then the j knot and the uni to uni

My friend "Crazy" Alberto Knie developed the "Alberto Knot" over 30 years ago... it was based on the Albright knot but IMHO (and many others who have used it) is wayyyy better than the Albright or Modified Albright for connecting braided line to mono. If tied properly, this knot will NOT come undone... period.

Google Images for Alberto's Knot and you will see it. The picture I tried to enter below would not load for some reason, sorry.

Here is a video Alberto made also showing how to tie the knot...

It's very similar to those Chinese finger traps we used to play with as kids years ago... the more you pull... the tighter the knot becomes... I will not tie braid to my fluorocarbon leader without using this knot... it is simply the best and cleanest connection there is.

Hope this helps!

The best connection I have found for fluro to spectra (without using a swivel)
is the Tony Pena Knot / also called the Bob Sands Knot.

Tie a double overhand knot in the fluro

Wrap the spectra 12 times up and then 12 times back down crossing over itself
(creating X's as you wrap)

Wet the knot and draw it in one continuous motion.
---------------------------
It casts through the guides nicely and its very strong.

Listen to :adore: Billy V! He knows his knots.

But personally I like bimini twists and with a worm knot. They use this knot combo on the long range fleet. It is not an easy knot, but it's strength is unsurpassed.

X2

Great knot and the best casting through guides with a short topshot.
