Kershaw Pro grade fillet knives reviews?

Anybody use them? saw a couple review on amazon but i value your guys reviews more

opinion and suggestions for size of blade

I don't know too much about Kershaw. But most meat cutters, processers, and deck hands tend to use Victorinox (spelling?) knives. great knives, lots of choices and good price. Another popular comercial knife brand is Dexter/Russel. I've had good luck with both brands.

I used to work in a fish market most of our knives were either Dexters or forschners. For the larger fish i prefered forschners. for the smaller fish that required a more flexable blade I used the dexter.

Forshners for sure..got mine from thelocal butcher,Works great for fish and wild game.
14" fliet. Holds a nice edge. And ez to keep razor sharp :-):cool:

Kershaw is not good enough steel.

Forshner 8" Breaking Knife, and the Forshner 6" Boning Knife can do it all.

Including filleting the skin off.

My folding kershaw never held an edge and eventually rusted out inside. Dint know about their fillet knives but I know forshner boning knives do great at just about everything when it comes to big game.

A cheap Promar with a thick, pointy blade, and a good size handle. It's a durable and disposable workhorse knife. It will only hold a moderately sharp edge, but its plenty sharp enough to cut bait - line - stab - etc.
Good rust resistance.

$5 or $6 at Dana Market.

im positive there are better knives out there, but i got one of these from BPS. and its actually pretty nice! doesnt come with a sheath , but very sharp out of the box! and 10 bucks.. duh.. i have a couple buddies with boats, and plan on getting these for them as a boat ho gift.

A chef's knife is not really ideal for filleting fish. Will work fine in a pinch, but you'll be much better off with a fillet, breaking or cimeter type of knife.

I'd go with a Forschner 8 or 10" breaking knife and a 6 or 7" fillet or boning knife.
