NPH Sunday march 25th

I will be fishing out at newport this comming sunday with 4 of my buddys, we usually rent the skiffs out at daveys locker and roam around the harbor but we all just recently puchased kayaks this year. Any tips/input on fishing outside the harbor would be gladly appreciated! Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us we will launch at about 6:30am :reel:! Thanks in advance! tight linesss!

Deef, Im not too sure what to actually target out the harbor.. I usually dropshot flukes for halibut in NP.. Im gonna try to Drop some macs and see if i can get some TS action. and toss some spoons/ iron :reeling:

Sunday looks to be a bit wet right now but givin all weather reports and predictions as of late have been no where near accurate, I may get down and join in the fun, I have only fished there one time pretty nice launch
You need to factor in wind and tide for going outside, some real nice spots
south of the harbor entrance...any place for rock fish there? :reel:

Got room? I've been skiffing NPH for years, Doug is awesome and I miss the old blue skiffs... Like you guys, I went out and got a kayak so I could fish on my schedule. I haven't been to NPH yet as I've been out practicing at Irvine Lake. I'm down to share what I know and hopefully learn some new techniques/locations. :)

The tides look kind of blah this weekend, but if the weather holds I maybe down for both days. Yup, I'm new and fired up!

I've got a radio I could use. I will keep those channels listed at communication. Weather in SoCal, you know... 30% reported today on a Sunday is really 0% with a little bit of overcast :p

We usually arrive at the location around 6:00-6:30, assist one another unload/gearing and launch. If you're interested in joining us, you are welcome to. Its always good to meet new ppl that shares the same interest.

I think it was that way everywhere...the bait was so thick in redondo
every place we went was full of bait, macks to 12 inches dines were about 4-6 inches, thats it oh that and bait scales...lol...water has to warm up, that's all there is to it...still nice to get out OTW:reel:

After a couple of macs... I managed to pull out the water one of these... Let em go cause I don't eat what I catch :eek:

Life got in the way and I didn't get out to NPH till almost 5pm. :mad: Left by 6:30 with 4 calico's and 1 nice sized sandbass in about an hour of fishing. By the coast guard dock it was WFO on macs. After they destroyed 2 swimbaits, I had to get out of the mac zone.

Sounds like you guys had similar conditions. Any action outside of the harbor?

Notthing out the harbor but macs,lizards and one tiny hali.... i pretty much tried every from kroc spoon, dropshot fluke, bighammer,iron, live macs, live sardines. Over all everyone seem to have a good time:luxhello:
