FISHIONADO

Launched friday night after 5:00pm, headed out past the cans, marked bait on FF but couldn't get any to stick. Talked to a couple people with the same problem, no bait, no fish. Saw a few boils and threw a surface iron for nada. Caught an octopus on the JimiJig while dead sticked, not really hooked, he had been clinging to the jig and slid down for the photo.

Launched again Saturday morning just before 6:00am. Caught lots of bait at the pier and went North for flatties or yellowtail. Drug a mack low with a 1lb weight on a 3-way swivel and another mack flylined. I worked close to the shore all the way up to the glider port and then went out to about 40' and worked my way back down. Only fun I had was a bonita early on, I should have kept it.

3 foot waves, Hawaiian scale.

Launched again just before 6:00am on Sunday, caught lots of greenbacks again and headed straight for the NW corner. Continued using the 3-way halibut rig and a flyline mack. Got several zings and raked baits until an 8lb yellowtail took the mack on the bottom in 80' of water. It was tasty for dinner tonight.
