Finely after 7 seasons of freezing my cheeks off, I went and bought some waders.
I have always been worried about swimming in them if I was to flip or what not and end up in the water. I know to ware a belt with them, but still nervous.
My question is what do you ware under them? I have neoprene farmer john style with the stocking feet. a pair of sweats be enough or shorts? In other words are the waders them selfs pretty warm or do they just keep you dry. I don't want to be to hot or cold.
The thought of being dry and warm has over come any fear I have of drowning in them. I know their safe.

Shorts should be enough on most days. Don't worry about drowning, watch this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYwG52p4yjs&feature=player_embedded).

Great video!
Jim is very informing in what he does and teaches that really helped with my fears of getting waders

I've been wondering about that. I'm good to go.

Stay away from cotton and get yourself a pair of the polartec type fleece pants. They don't soak with water if they get wet, and provide better insulation anyway. I bought a pair that I had hemmed mid calf to wear under my NRS waterproof paddling pants, and they are super comfy even when sitting in 55 degree water for hours on end.

Myth.... BUSTED !!! I was out yesterday with waders over some gym shorts, dry as can be. And it was a bit chilly but I was just fine.
