I went and checked all the fishing reports from the 3 main charters out here in San Diego. According to '08-'09-'10'-'11 reports, the yellows make their first big appearance in early March, in the double digits for every trip. According to the fishing reports, not a single charter has bagged a YT yet this year, and we're already into April. What gives?

Of course the random stray yellow makes it's way into a Bdecks and BWE reports, but it looks like the consistency is missing.

Trying to get information about yellows and wsb is like trying to get the 911 operator to pick up the phone......it ain't happening. The best way to find out is to head south, fish, fish, fish and fish until you find them. If a report regarding the 'exotics' should magically appear I can assure you it will be at least two maybe three weeks old.

a guy on BD fished catalina twice and came back with limits on YT. but i think that the water is colder than normal for this time of year. all of these scatterred rain storms are messing things up.

Do to the rising cost of living and the current economic situation we are in here in CA, the yellows have decided that living in Mex. is better.

Huge schools of bait everywhere getting blown up close to shore and I've heard legal wsb are comming out of carlsbad and ponto off the beach. Just haven't had time to take the yak out. But did get a short in the suds .

Oh the yellows glad you asked they sent a postcard from cedros said they won't be around this year. Although I read on a forum that they were doing alright trolling cedar plugs in San Diego bay.

Yes we are looking at colder water. Tommy has local YT for sale, so it it likely won't be long for them to show in numbers. We need some settled weather, not common for Spring. Water warms and then rolls with the wind.

Oh my god a report of a yellowtail that must mean they are around. Does the chubasco troll cedar plugs in the back bay?
