I have been to every hardware store in my area and no one has the spreading pop rivets, only aluminum or steel ones. I have seen them at southwind kayak in irvine for .75 cents each and that seems a little steep....
Does anyone know where I can find some in bulk , like over 30-40 of them, for a relatively cheap price? I know online you can get them but I dont have a credit card or any type of bank cards. I use cash or barter services mainly.
So if you know where I can get some of the pop rivets with the black sheath on the bottom that would work for my flush mount rod holders and a scotty rod holder please let me know!!!
Thanks guys. :you_rock:

Sorry I guess I should have clarified Im in south oc (mission viejo). I think it would be more gas for me to go to oex and get them than to go to irvine and get them for .75 ea.
Thanks for the great suggestion though, I really appreciate it!
I was hoping for a hardware store or body shop that people have found them at local to me. (I know its a long shot :) )
Thanks again for the suggestion.

Do they have to be rivets or can you use stainless screws with some Goop?

I have some stainless screws but I just worry about not being able to put the nut on it since its a sit on top kayak and I would have to get in through the hatch.
Do you guys not put nuts on the screws? Just screw them in to the plastic and goop it up?

Andy carries EVERYTHING.

Well, almost everything. One day I wanted to buy a giraffe but he said he didn't carry them.

When you show up you have to greet him with the secret handshake, that's how I got my three wsb last year.

In no way am I a pro at installing stuff but you can use the self threading screws to secure whatever and the Goop is to keep water out and help with keeping things put. Check out some videos on you tube by KayakFishNation. There's some helpful videos on installing items.

On the top of this page you will see a tab that says Online Store. Click that, find your rivets and order them and have them shipped to you. You'll save gas money. The prices online are less than in the stores.

This method works well and are easier to get out if you need to change things up. Drill your pilot holes, apply the goop, and make sure you get the goop over the holes. Use the self threading screws that don't need a nut, and secure them. As the goop dries it creates a seal and from what I've found it acts like a lock nut. I don't use the rivets much anymore. However if you still want to buy those click the tab for Online Store and shop away.

Thanks for all the tips guys! I ended up just going back to southwind and getting about 30 of them plus some other accessories. Installed 5 rod holders in my tandem and some paddle holders today!
