tried it seems like it slips....tied it to my weight..weight got caught on something, all it took was a light tug. Pulled up my rig and line was all curly at the end

so thats why i was a lil concern that the palomar might not work for spectra

This knot (as with most) needs to be moistened and pulled on as tight as you can before use. Never had it slip on me once. Like ChuckD recommended, I like the SD Jam as well. Just takes a slightly more time.

San Diego Jam or Double San Diego Jam.
San Diego Jam is my terminal knot in almost all cases, but I tied up 30lb waxy spectra in a 7 turn san diego jam and it slipped a little more than I was happy with. 4 turns in a double seemed was much more solid. (But any question like this should really be tested!)

I've heard the Palomar is not great with braid, and also that the palomar is strong when pressure is applied gradually but much less strong when jerked. With no topshot to help absorb that shock, this is another reason palomar might not be the best choice. (Again, I'd like to test this)

I'm pretty religious about wetting my knots....will check out the double too

Palomar, I believe it won the knot wars contest for braid. So easy to tie.

Go double Palomar for braid = no slip

I've never been able to break that knot even when I tried.

If you really want to go over the top add a dab of super glue to the knot.
