Decided to fish Cabrillo for Halibut, and bring my friend for his first legal halibut, but the weather is not helping.

On the water around 7AM, water was calm for about only an hour, and wind started blowing all the way until we left about 1230PM, spend most of the time paddling...

Anyway, still able to caught a short :wsb: and a short halibut, but 0 for my friend~~Sure will bring him there again next time when the wind slow down.

Thanks for the report. I'm heading out of Cabrillo tomorrow. Hope the wind stays down for at least the morning!

I hear that you shouldn't be handling baby seabass like that.

From what I've heard, you should avoid handling them as much as possible. You remove any of that slime from their skin, they will get an infection and die. Keep them in the water, lip grip, and unhook. Make sure it swims away safe and sound to grow up to be a huge pig...so you can KILL IT then!!!
