Oceanside tips needed

I am going to be fishing Oside this Saturday and wondered where to go to try to catch Calico's is. I didn't know if there was any out on the reefs or just Sand bass. Any ideas or tips would be helpful thanks

theres not fish in Oceanside. Just Marines messing with you under water.

Right out of the harbor there isn't much kelp or structure. There's the artificial reefs outside and north a bit, the bucaneer pipe to the south, some kelp off army/navy academy, and a long paddle to the kelp off penedlton. Mike
