How not to reel in a fish.

Went out recently and had the 'ol gopro on to catch some mayhem. I noticed that the bait seemed very nervous. Even when they were schooling. So whilst making bait i soaked a greenie. I was pretty shallow when this strike happened. Pretty good day on the water.

And if you wanna see me reel it up. Look at all the wasted movements in the clip. If your going to start an action finish it instead of trying to to it 2 or 3 times. You can see but i doubled over on my gaff at one point and almost stabbed myself. One of the best videos I've seen - especially because of the kelp and the clear challenge faced in having to pull/break the fish free from the salad. Before we had spectra, it would have been nearly impossible to horse the thing through. You earned that fish WTG!

Thanks for the awesome video. Props to the fish for giving you that great sleigh ride and to you for the way you worked it.

I know how much people like their music. I just wish I could have heard the hull slap, your reel screaming, maybe some heavy breathing, light cussing and that victory yell I think I could barely make out at the end. That's real music, to my humble ears. (Just wishing aloud).

Im pumped I finally caught a really good fight on my go-pro. I've always watched others fights on camera and marveled at these awesome creatures we chase hours upon end. Glad you all enjoyed the footage.
