Jasmin and I launched around 6:00 am through thick 1 to 2 fters. He went south, I hit the pier.

Uphill current was rippin’; it was like a river right by the pier. Got 4 candy greenies and 1 big smelt rather quickly – enough for brown fishing.

Water by the pier was 64ish.

Pounded the sand for 4.5 hours for 1 leopard, 1 brake off (likely another lep), and a couple of raked baits which looked good.

West swell was up, surfers were having a blast.

Landing was OK, given you didn’t pick the wrong set. Back on the beach at 11:00AM.

Jasmin said the bait was tough in the kelp. He got nothing other than them bonz.

I froze my ass off early… We got rained on twice, constant 7-8 mph was blowing except from 8:0 to 9ish.

Another day in paradise. :rambo:

Good seeing ya’ all.

You know, I've been tempted to go back to the chunk but I haven't been marking anything on that spot. We need some current to get things in swing.

La Jolla seems to be as slow as it's been at any time during this year. Can't wait for that to change. Thanks for the report.
