I want to thank Josh Pruitt for my new avatar picture. As many of you have heard, it pays to hire a guide to help to accelerate your learning curve in LJ and save yourself many hours of fishing in “dead" water. I am an experienced fisherman and sportswriter, but I will be the first one to admit it has a worthwhile investment. After fishing with Darkhorse, I consider ocean kayak fishing to be an extreme sport because I have lost an average of 5 lbs of sweat per trip and I have been using a five hour energy drink when we head back for the barn at sunset. I am very blessed to have a stable Hobie PA 14 fully with rigged a with bait tank, a fish finder and excellent fishing gear. I have 2 more paid lessons with Josh, so will hopefully be able to post another thread with a smile looking down on a WSB or big halibut. I always give all the credit for my fishing success to God, but I know he hooks me up with the right people to show me the way.

One of the highlights of this trip was the Risso's. I captured a pretty cool moment in time while searching high and low. Talk about a Kodak moment!http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegallery/data/500/DSCF0469.JPG

Then it was time to torture Randy, of course.

It's hard to torture a guy with a smile on his face, though. Randy kept at it and another avatar-worthy fish bit the dust.

It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

These fish are old news by now. So maybe we should talk about our most recent trip?

Or...

We could just let the pictures tell the tale?

Thanks Josh for adding those other pictures...!!! After "training" with Josh,
I am really improving. I was 1 for 6 first trip....next trip improved to 3 for 5...
I have a new appreciation and respect for the level of effort it takes to land yellows on the yak....
One more summer trip with Josh to go...looking forward to it...
