I'm gonna pull the trigger on a a used yak tomorrow. If I don't I'll analyze it to death. I have low back and leg issues (pain). With all the seats out there has anybody with pain issues found some relief with a seat bottom that is thicker. Have to paddle , I do know that, so no peddler for me.
I've seen some anywhere from 1" to 3 " thicker than most stock seats.
Not only more padding on my boney but will the angle possible help with health issues. I know this is subjective but thought someone with leg or back issues may have an approach without buying 20 different seats.
I honestly think I'll feel better if I get involved and take a chance of improving my health than if I just sit here staring at my computer screen.
thx :cheers1:

gosh I think the only way to do this is try as many as you can, I have both siadica, if that's how you spell it, too lazy to look it up, anyhow, bad back herre too, but I can still pedal, I myself would suck it up and go down to OEX and demo everything they have until you felt comfy, and I would bring my yak, and try them in the bay...make a day of it, bring a rod and some plastic...IMO

I haven't asked OEX about trying seats, kayaks yes but seats on my kayak. That would be great. I tried peddling several times but unfortunately it just beats the tar out of me. My upper body even though it's been rebuilt a couple times it's doing very well vs. my legs the most. Would like to be able to get stronger and have a low enough pain level to at least enjoy some fishing for a half a day when things are nice out.

Most comfortable seat I've ever used was a Feel Free seat. Andy has them at OEX Sunset Beach. Perhaps the OEX down your way carries them?

Amen. Good for you, a great attitude. I'm a doctor. . .Take two kayak fishing sessions each week and you'll feel better. Don't expect miracles, but the first couple of times may make you sore, it's a lot of work. Stick with it 2x each week, for at least 52 weeks. And don't forget to post the porn.

I'm not a doctor but I had a few beers and I'm pretty confident I can do brain surgery right now.

this is really good advise actually...slowly but surely, you will be able to be out on the water for the whole day, it will come...keep at it..."wax on wax off"...:reel:
