Last night I got my limit and my buddy got his of lobsters. Now the 64 dollar question. How do you keep them. Can you freeze them whole or cook them whole them freeze them or cut the tails off and then freeze them ?:you_rock:

I guess you can just cut the tail off and freeze them, that is how they sell lobster tail in Costco..

Freeze em whole. Tuck tail underneath, wrap legs & secure with a big rubber band. But put them in a bowl or something so any liquid they may seep doesn't make a mess.

I would tail them, remove the intestines and then freeze them. I'm sure it's ok to freeze whole but I wouldn't do that. You don't need to cook them before you freeze them. Freezing raw is OK.

Vaccuum seal the tails and freeze them. Be sure to remove the sand trail

If you are going to eat them within a month you can Freeze em whole.
Put them in the freezer alive and wait about ten minutes then.... Tuck tail underneath, wrap legs & secure with a big rubber band or twist tie.
Thaw out in the sink with some tap water and you're good to go!

Remove tail. remove one antenna and insert in asshole and push. Pull out shit tube. Rinse good then vacuum that bad boy

Is it legal to pull the tail off and freeze them? If DFG came in your house and checked the freezer, don't you still need the body on? (so they could measure for shorts I guess)? On another form a guys was saying it was not legal to pull the tails and freeze them.......Any one? Bueller?

Yes it's true...you are not supposed to de-tail your lobster until you are ready to consume it...I can't imagine a bunch of DFG wardens using a battering ram to bust down your door just to check your 7 bugs in the freezer!
Just use your uncommon sense and don't de-tail on the boat or at the dock.
