went and fished vail lake with big bro. first time the kayaks went in freshwater. LMB cought in 10-20 ft. water temp about 71. saw crappie and LM bass jumping from 9am till 3pm. we got 7 fish total, I was using 20lb test  . I'm sure someone with real F.W. skillz could go out there and kill'um.

oh and vail just started letting kayaks on for 25 bucks.

Beautiful day on the water. For $25 bucks do ya get to keep the fish or is the Lake a Catch and Release only?
Thanks for the report!

Nice report! That is great news about being able to take the kayak onto the lake and for only $25. That annual membership fee there is way too expensive!

You guys got to get away and have it all to yourselves.:cheers1:

That's exactly how and why you will always remember days like that spent Fishing with a Friend.

No need to seek advice or tips, it looks to me you did more than "OK".

Great Post, thanks for sharing.

Nice. Looked nice and calm, and very empty. I need to hit the FW sometime.

Killer report, I appreciate it when people do something out of the norm. I drive by Vail lake fairly often and have wondered many times how the fishing is and rarely ever see many boats out there. Looks like fun. Thanks.

Maybe time to dust off the old bass gear

Uh oh, more bass fishing? I remember how it ended last time.

my Manager fishes the heck out of the lake because his buddy has a membership. He freakin kills it there, averages about 30 LMB a day.

vail is always on fire
