In all seriousness, it's a grim reminder. Keep your wits about you out there. RIP buddy.

I like surfing very much, but this news shocked me, I am very sad to know this its very sad incident. Once a crazy shark also hit me, By luck I escaped from the attack.

Maybe they should have signs like they do in Morro Bay, this would have not happened.

Isn't it a given that sharks live in the ocean? You enter their world at your own risk.

Unfortunately it only takes one uninformed/mistaken shark to ruin your day. The outcome isn't always bad, right?

Last month a Great White was cruising the mouth of Santa Barbara Harbor for a week on and off. This spring ( I think ) a surffer / life guard at the city Surf was killed by one. A little one washed up at Rincon in spring to.

Just to much seals for them to eat around. Need to go clubing:D Dam Seals

i think 90% of the people who actively go in the ocean, especially surfers, know the dangers of being out there, including the chance of a shark wanting to see what you taste like.

I'm sure the guy, if he had survived, wouldn't have blamed the shark and probably would have kept on surfing.
