word on the street was the last one was 100 mini X's and 4 or 5 x factors. can you tell us what models will be on the lot?
Siebler
11-06-2012, 12:55 PM
We dont 100% know until they get here but we are being told it should be a pretty equal mix averaging 15 of each on the fishing models (s9,s12,s14,Xfactor).

Guys just to clear things up, Malibu will be putting as many kayaks as they can into the 50' container. Depending on size this would be anywhere between 85 and 110 kayaks

I may pitch this to fellow employees. They live near OEX Sunset Beach, but it's a good opportunity worth a roady.
They will ask what "blems" are and what fixes may need to be made in an "as-is" boat. Please clarify. Are these all seaworthy? Can they get fixes made at OEX Sunset?
Iceman
11-06-2012, 04:55 PM
There are no "fixes" necessary these are factory seconds that have minor imperfections. Most companies sell these as demo kayaks or rental kayaks, we do this with MK to put new kayaks into the hands of people who don't think they can afford a new kayak.

Thanks. Good to have an answer for folks that don't know the history OEX/Malibu. Two coworkers snagged these at first sales this summer in Paramout. They are SO happy.

Hi all a long time lurker and newbie at that. I am in the process of losing weight. (56 pounds so far) I promised myself a gift when my weight dropped below 300. I am just 24 pounds from that goal. I want an x-Factor, but I can't get there until 12:45ish. With 15 X-Factors, at the sale, do you think it is a gamble to drive from the Poway area?
I know that in previous posts the x-factors can sell quick. Just not sure if I want to drive my truck like I stole it to make it down there, only to be out of luck.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks in advance....

Awesome! Thanks for a quick response.
OK for those of you who will be heading over at o' dark 30- We roped of the grass area with caution tape where the kayaks are going to go. There are glow sticks on PVC pipes that mark the start of the line. So line up there to be number 1.
:luxhello:
Also leave room for the 55' trailer to get in the parking lot. It is pretty tough to get that size trailer in the lot.

I might have a relative go down there earlier and pay for it. Could I picked it up later in the day? I assume that the Kayaks are all Sea worthy and it is just a matter of picking a color? Sorry for the newbie questions.
Yes-someone can purchase it for you as long as it is picked up later that day. Make sure you get the copy of the receipt from them-
Correct kayaks still go through QC at the factory and have a 90 day warranty.

Same here. I bought the White X-Factor around 12:45PM and couldn't be happier. Excellent service. I need to make another trip down there with the Kayak for OEX to install a fish finder, bait tank, etc. :you_rock:
The sale was a outrages success, we told the trailer to leave and still have some kayaks left. We have already had several people come today to score some kayaks at outrageously low prices.
We still have:
Mini-x Lime REC
Mini-x Mango REC
Pro-Explorer Camo STD
Sierra 10 Camo FD
Stealth 14 Mango FD
Stealth 14 Sand FD
Stealth 14 Yellow FD
Stealth 9 Mango FD
X-Factor yellow FD
X-Factor Mango REC
If anyone is interested come by before they are all gone.

I know that 14 feet can be really long when hanging off the back of your truck. My guess is that 12 feet is a little more convenient.

As long as you have a bed extender for support of the Kayak, and a red flag it's not that bad at all. I have a Prowler 15 and a 6' bed on my truck. That being said I have 9' of kayak sticking out the back of my truck, supported, and legally setup with red flag. Make sure it's secure and no worries. It saves a lot of time loading and unloading.

Check out this. (http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/forumdisplay.php?f=8) Blem sales come randomly. Often times we hear about them the week of. There are plenty of great deals on kayaks that come WITH gear on a weekly basis.

According to the CHP. Your kayak cannot extent more than half the length of the vehicle that you are using. In other words, if your truck is 16 ft. long (not including the bumpers) the yak can extend 8 ft from the end of the bed, not counting the tailgate. I went down to their office and checked when I got my T-13. Also you must have a red light onthe back of the yak at nightr and a red flag during the day. The use of a bed extender does not let you stick out any further. I used to use one but got tired of it dragging on the ground everytime I hit a bump or go over a dip. Now I just attached a pool noodle to the tailgate for protection and tie it to the truck.

Thanks a bunch. I did buy the bed extender. It turns out that I can transport a Kayak just over 15 feet if I want to. My truck is 19 feet long. The Bed is 6.5 feet. The Malibu X-Factor is 14'4". So by my fuzzy math, I would have 7 feet 10 inches over hang but I am allowed 9 feet. So I have 14 inches to spare! :luxhello:
Xfactor - 172 inches
Truck bed - 78 inches
XFactor - Truck = 94 inches overhang = 7 feet 10 inches.
Allowed - 108 inch overhang
I can find a kayak that is 1 foot 2 inches longer......lol
