not sure if this is "the way", but it works. i need to make a bungee for the pedals so they don't get stuck in the sand in the down position again.

and yes, i ate shit on the way in. pearled and went stern over bow. :D

Cool didn't know you recorded that. From that perspective the bow design looks scary low.

I too had a minor yard sale of my own today. :o:cheers1:

i kept the gopro on but not recording just in case i ended up hooking up or another mako came up the slick and it died... nothing cool happened today though. besides fighting a 3-4lb rockfish on a sabiki. :D and i got some footage of a mola, but its only like 30 seconds and not as good as i had hoped.

i distinctly remember those waves being bigger... :D and yes the bow design doesn't help when in the surf zone. it plows through instead of trying to ride over and there's nothing to make it plane on the water when surfing in, 8 out of 10 times i end up pearling. not always flipping but the bow goes under. should have put some pedals on my x factor.

I think your kayak came with a long tube with two flat ends. It is a forward, backward, sideways and turning propulsion device. It can be very helpful in the surf zone.:paddleersmilie:

Thats on the big side for lj shores, well done. When I launch or land a hobie it feels like there is alot going on that all needs to be done at once compared to my paddle boats where I just sprint paddle till I'm outside the surf. I have an adventure and it doesn't plane or provide lift to go over waves either. A bit anxiety inducing. Going ass over tea kettle sounds like a nightmare in a boat as heavy as a PA. Show a landing video if you can. Like MrPatrick said, having a paddle ready can help. The mirage drive needs to move the yak forward in order to turn. If you find yourself not straight in to the waves a paddle can pivot your yak around much faster than the drive. Mike
