speaking of squid. read a report on another board of the humboldts hitting the north coast pretty hard right now... pray they stay up there.

Did anyone try to eat the Humboldts squid?? I would think one of them would be enough to for a few people and squid are yummy

I heard they can be caught, killed, cleaned beaten and that they make a decent calamari sandwich.

Squad of squid, like it. I've eaten the calamari steaks and thought they were pretty good. But when I tried the squid DIY I couldn't make them edible. I'm a decent seafood cook and no matter how I prepped them or prepared them they were just not right. Flavor was ok but the texture was either chewy or mushy with rubbery strings . I hope to never see a humbolt squid again and deffinately not a squad of them. Mik

ahi squid jigs are pretty good. i used to use the white ones and load up. now i have the green one and yet to get any. :D
