I had my Adventure locked up on the trailer and somebody helped themselves to my rudder..........I am dumb founded. This has to be somebody with a Hobie, not some crack head. What really pisses me off is they cut all 4 lines..........so I have to reroute new lines before putting on a new rudder. You saved $60, thank you DOUCHE!

Sorry to hear that Andy. You're a nice guy always doing things for strangers. It's sad to say but everyone needs to be extra wary during the holidays.

Weak! That is so low! Time for some cctv cameras to get all angles on these weenies. First the Tiki, now this? You might have all the parts you need on my old A in the bottom of your rack?

I hope Karma justice is served

Friggin sleezeball. Unfortunately, I don't see it getting any better for quite a while which really sucks.

Does anybody know who sold a Adveture with a missing or broken rudder lately?

I hate hearing about stuff like this,it sucks that there is a likelyhood someone in this community could do that!

Dang sorry to hear that !
My wifes purse was stolen the day after thanksgiving.
we went inside my parents house for less then 10 min .
we were carrying lots of things she ran outside as soon as she remembered
but it was too late... they got her phone, credit cards and dependent ID.

Im trying to jump through hoops to get her a new one . we found out on thanksgiving that she is pregnant and now she cant see her doctor without that ID... Im here in San DIego trying to jump through hoops to get her a new one as fast as possible .

I see your always helping people here on the forum and getting them good deals. If you have Paypal Ill send you $35 to offset a little of what that guy cost you.. just pm me your paypal address and Ill send it to ya.

Oscar thanks! I did pull a rudder assembly off of a warranty boat, so it really only cost me my time and a few yards of spetcra control line.

I refuse to believe a kayaker did this, so it must have been a tweeker that had some crazy idea of mounting the rudder on his BMX bike to make it faster!

Adventures aren't all that common. I'd suggest we start our Bigwater's Edge Neighborhood Watch!

A little, "Hey buddy, nice rudder. Come here often?" might nab a shifty angler.

Arggh matey. :D

Still, keep an eye out.

WTF...don't worry Andy, for everything you've done for this kayak community, that phookhead won't be so lucky to get off with a little bad juju, it's gonna hit him like a constipated elephant's first shit in months landing on a fly...:the_finger:

That always sucks being stolen from, 2 summers ago we were broken into so now we have a camera system on the perimeter, if i see/hear anything about the stolen parts i'll let you know, was the rudder the only thing stolen? seems like someone makes an attempt as stealing something from you every few weeks. With all the even petty theft of people opening packages, in your store and taking parts it would pay off, for both you and the customer. (one of the scotty extensions i bought the other day, someone stole the extra knob, i mean really what are you gonna do with just a KNOB?, whatever i grabbed one off another less used scotty of mine)

andy, have you ever looked into a CCTV Security camera system? it's kinda creep/cool to be able to watch your place at all times from anywhere with any device (if you'd like i can PM you phone number of my friend that chose the best system for my place, and isntalled it, he works for a big security firm and does sidejob installs on his off time)
