So Wedding and Honeymoon is done. I feel so grown up now lol. Anyways finally I have some spare time to rig my yak. Its been neglected for too long. I picked up a hds5 gen 2 and i need help dailing it in. What's do you guys suggest doing with the settings? And I don't have any la jolla maps. Yes, I purchased it from West Marine. What should I ask customer service? la jolla fish chip?
Any help is greatly appreciated

Every unit acts differently and some people have different preferences.
What i mean is that my unit may have 86% sens/85% CL but yours might look better at 67/76. How you mount it will have a greater impact on it as well.
I usually start by going over some stuff I know is underneath me, like kelp stringers, rocky reef and soft bottom. Dial it in to your preference to see these clearly, then head to open water and tweak it just enough so you can see your iron/sabiki/live bait in the water column. I'm constantly making adjustment.

Don't bother getting a La Jolla chip. Everybody knows their are no fish in La Jolla.
