Went out at daybreak and headed to the grounds for no squid but the macks and dines were EVERYWHERE! Caught macks to about 16"
Saw what looked like a smooth hound shark brought up to be released but that was all the action I saw.
Only had a few hours so was back in by 11:30 :(
No love on frozen squid or trolled macks but did bring some back for bait for an upcoming bat ray event on another forum!
Not much to report but was a beautiful day on the water after the swells died a bit.

I believe you had just landed as I was going out. What a beautifully awesome day out there. I caught my PB Calico Bass today a real pig while yo yo ing for YT. Brought it home and made a Fish Print with it and acrylic paint on a canvas, my first attempt at this. I think it came out ok, I am happy with it as a first print, I may post it after I photo it.
Anyway he is now filleted and ready for fish tacos.
Did I mention how nice a day is was out there in LJ.

No red kayak on the beach. Where you in the green one? I didn't switch species, the PB Calico was bycatch, lol.

Ah that was you. I was the guy in the coolie hat. Massive krill schools from the shore all the way to Hawaii! Had those suckers coming up thru the scuppers and chillen in the footwell all afternoon lol.

I wondered if that was you Len! I still need to get with you about a couple of rod wrapping projects when you have the time and I have some spare cash to finance your sick skills!:D
I saw tons of quarter inch squid out there as well.
