of the bycatch.

I caught my Personal Best Calico at 19.5 inches and really fat. I caught it while going for yellow tail with a 6x salas and frozen squid, amazing.

I had recently saw the thread about fish prints and being an artist, I had to try it. Here is my first try..... "Calico Bass 2-11-13"

SWEET fish!!! Remember to save some of that green and yellow paint for the target species...
I've bought some paint and cloth...now hoping for an opportunity.

I used acrylic paint (washes off with water) and a painted white canvas.

Today I saw an ad for Michaels for the paint I bought last night, on sale for $1.99 for a Large tube, reg $3.99 for two days only..... I went out and bought 16 more tubes to be ready for this spring. Now I just need to find a roll of painted white canvas, maybe Blick art store.

That Halibut print is awesome, now I wish I would have done mine.

.... about my fish print, which she really likes. I already sell art at some of the local art shows like Artwalk in San Diego. I am inspired (by my first attempt) to do a whole series of fish prints that I will sell as cards and prints.

So NOW, I can tell my wife that I NEED to go to work, and go out fishing :D

Wow this worked out well .........

very, very cool.... sure beats "taxidermy".

Hey Chris, how about putting these on T-shirts? I like the ideas suggested! My drawing skills are about the level of a 3-year old, and I think I could do this! Very nice! Now let's go catch some fish too big for a t-shirt!

Thanks Cliff. Ya I was thinking of doing a Tee Shirt line as well, I just need to find a good printer that prints wholesale. I need more art first.

So I went to Blick today a bought a roll of 73 inch x 18 feet primed white med canvas, enough to do a small whale ..... ;) Cost was $100 less a 40% off coupon making it $64. Bought more Acrylic today at 1.99 ea, now I have 26 tubes of paint and a lot of canvas. I'm Ready.

Time to go fishing .....

Lets catch a YT or WSB on Friday and get to painting.....

See you Friday Morning ......

Nice fish print! This popular Japanese art form is often called "Gyotaku."
Lots of instructions on YouTube.
