Just got rid of my PA 14 and Purchased a PA 12 and decided to take it out for my maiden voyage this past Sunday and had 1 bite and made it count, my buddy Jim paddled over and dropped down where I hooked up and we had a double going. :yt::yt:

Both fish were landed we stuck it out until about 4pm to see if we could hook tie into another but when the wind and whitecaps showed up we had to call it a day.

It was cool seeing you guys get hooked up. I lost my last fish just after you landed your fish, I was the one that asked you if you had lost it.
What a day!!!!

It was sick seeing a Toad Yellow sticking out of each side of your yak and to see you get bent again priceless.

I am going to cross my fingers that it has yellow and seabass juju this year.

Was hoping when I clicked on your post that I might hear a little bit about how you like your PA 12 over the PA 14... It'd be great to hear a review from someone like you that has pedaled both. (or maybe it's too soon yet?)
If you've got a moment... would love to hear your comments on the pros & cons of each vessel?
Thanks in advance...

Based on my personal observation the the pro's and cons between the two kayaks are:
PA 14- If I were 6' tall 180 + lbs I would of kept this kayak but I am not I am 5'6'' so this kayak was way to heavy for me. On the water it rode perfectly the stability on this kayak is unmatched. As you guys seen on my previous seabass post I could Stand on the PA14 with two huge seabass without even feeling a wobble. I could be wrong but it seem like the steering is better on the 14. I like the center bin on this yak better than the one on the 12, with a 2 extra ft the front hatch has much better storage. If this kayak was not so heavy to me I would of not upgraded.
Now for the PA12 with the new model there are a few upgrades to the yak. First off the seat is extremely comfortable you could adjust the seat like a car seat to your own comfort. The rear flush rod holders angle outwards which is a huge PLUS when it comes to trolling opposed to the old 14 rod holders goes straight up, there are pre cut holes in the hull/plugs with specific size slots to suit different size wires for different fish finders, there is a slot on the bottom of the PA there is a slot for your transducer a better reading/cover so you do not damage your transducer, drainage plugs in the front and rear of the kayak opposed to just the rear on the old 14, the 12 have 4 rod storage places in the hull of the kayak, the steering column has been moved so you could lay your rods better on both sides of the yak, you also have steering on the left and right side.
The stability on this yak is still amazing but not as good as the 14, the 12 is shorter, narrower, and lighter. I could actually paddle and maneuver this kayak with a paddle while landing, I had a very tough time doing this with the 14 and end up surfing in sideways.
Hope this will help you and anyone else that is in decision about a old 14 or new 12 and or 14.
Oh yea 1 last thing this one catches yellowtail lol :yt: lets see how it works with the :wsb:
