Went out to La Jolla Saturday morning. Pretty rough launch. Big swells out there. There wasn't the usual plethora of baitfish in close, but found some towards the outside. Saw a guy with a nice fish coming in as I was going out. No such luck for me. Slow day. A couple of 13" Calico's. Damn the 14" limit. Successfully released. No bottom fish. I got lucky on the way in and rode a wave all the way to shore in a stealth 14. I was flyin'. Made up for the embarrassing dunk I took a couple weeks ago. Not many yaks out there. I guess the weather kept people away.
