When you guys launch from Shelter Island, where do you end up fishing? I went out last Wednesday and didn't catch anything. Spent most of my morning dodging the Nimitz and a few other Naval ships. Weren't any other folks out fishing, no other Kayakers so I was kinda fishing by brail method.

W I N D Y !

Tons of bait in the water and TONS OF BOATS!!!!!!!

The south wind and the ripping current crossing each other at right angles made drifting no fun at all! Caught a ton of lizards and that was just about that.... til I put my yak up on the car and ........................car won't start! Still not sure whats wrong, had to have it towed from SI back to Poway, That was cheap:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Water was about 57 or 58 degrees cloudy and full of loose kelp and eel grass. By the time I got off the water the bay was like a washing machine with all the wakes from the boat traffic as well as the wind chop. Wish I had something better to report but the car thing kind of sucked the life out of even being on the water.
