Not use rod holders? I only use mine on the crate to hold rods but when im drifting or trolling their tucked under me legs. I like it this way because you get more control and feel on whats down there and its the quickest way to get the rids in your hand and fight a fish. Who else does this?

I do the same when I use a couple rods, but just hold on to the one if I'm using it solo.

With a mirage drive the rod in hand is easy. With a paddle yak its tougher. I do the hand held for light biters like halibut. Slow trolling big live macks I think the holder works fine. Mike
