The Seattle-based vessel, owned by Trident Seafoods, pulled up

an estimated 75 tons of pollock and 10 bright-orange rockfish.

At 2100 feet below C- Level those 150,000 pounds of fish probably took

fifteen years to mature.

Forget about global warming and kelp attrition, were all going to starve to

death………….except for the successful kayak hunters!!

Actually, smelt roe is delicious. Raw it is salty sweet and if you nuke it for 2-3 seconds it tastes like crab. Seriously.

Baby smelt are delicious dusted with a little seasoned flour and deep fried (no cleaning required) with a little of your favorite dipping sauce.
Yeah...we've depleted 90% of commercial fish stocks.....the numbers on bycatch alone thrown overboard are staggering....enjoy it now boys.
