Authorities searched for a possible missing kayaker Tuesday evening near the Neptune's Net restaurant in the 42000 block of the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu after an empty kayak was found near the shore.

Authorities searched for a possible missing kayaker Tuesday evening near the Neptune's Net restaurant in the 42000 block of the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu after an empty kayak was found near the shore.

Let's hope they find out this was a stolen kayak that the theif dumped after their joyride:(

Just googled that article....it's pretty vague, if someone was actually reported missing or they found a kayak adrift.....

Hopefully it's the latter.

Reiterate the safety precautions..... we all wear our pfd's, never ever dive without a buddy, keep a whistle attached, radio, cell phone, go with a buddy, leave your ego on the beach...safety first

Unfortunately that link is from an old story. They called this one off due to the unlikelihood the gentleman survived. He called 911 complaining of chest pain while kayaking.

They found his kayak and PFD floating. I bet the story would have turned out a bit different had he been wearing the PFD. At the very least they would have been able to recover him alive or find his body to put the family at rest. RIP.

Be safe out there. Wear your PFD always.

sucks..this is why I always go out with others.. Regardless of pdf, and rest of safety gear.. To many things can go wrong with just yourself like a stroke, etc
