In case you have not heard, I made my last ice delivery yesterday to Mission Bay to some bass tournament :D I am meeting Brent at 7 AM this morning to load up some inventory. I am making the big leap and heading north to run OEX Sunset Beach. This is the most excitement my family (who will follow me up after school lets out) and I have experienced in a long time:D I love a good adventure and am looking forward to making this store into something that is the talk of the town. We are doing extensive remodeling and bringing in all the bells and whistles. The success of OEX Point Loma has shown us what everyone is looking for and the Sunset store will be somewhat of a hybrid of the Point Loma and La Jolla stores, offering sales, installs and kayak rentals. Don't want to be late for my first day so I better get movin'! Wish me luck, and to the fish of La Jolla........I'll be back:D

Good luck Andy.. For some reason I don't think this is going to affect your strength in WCW '07-'08. I'm sure you'll find em somehow.

Enjoy your new adventure Andy! I'm sure OEX Sunset will be a big success.
At least there will be a few more YT in La Jolla now for the rest of us.
Cheers!
:cheers1:
Awesome opportunity - good luck. Hwy 73 will be your friend :)

Bring a Kayatank, if you don't mind. I need to get one installed and I am in Laguna Niguel. The traffic down to S.D is getting to be a pain.

Did Moyer pull in bigger bass yesterday and now you have to leave town? lol OEX should do very well, congrats to them for landing a huge kayak fishing resource. The fish up there should be getting nervous. Hope to see you around. Dave

Welcome to the neighborhood Andy. I drive by the sunset store every night. Saw a big pile of demo in the parkinglot tonight. Lights on almost stoped by to offer a beer.

I'm confused (that's normal)! Will you be taking over the Malibu Kayak store in Sunset (AKA? "Hooked on Kayaks") or is this a different location?
Thanks for all the help and knowledge you have shared with me. Good luck!
Good luck Andy. The Fishcatcher and I will miss you off LJ, but sure do hope you will be on the water with camera ready when he lands his first WSB (or bigger grade YT);)
Next time I'm up there I'll make sure and stop by....
I agree with all, can't think of a better person to run the store.

Welcome to the neighborhood. I live just 5 minutes south of you off PCH in HB. Will stop by to make you feel at home:cheers1: .
Sunset Beach is sweet, Taco Surf, Peter's Landing, Harbour House, aweseome surf fishing at Anderson Street. Surfside Colony, Huntington Harbour all sandwiched in between Seal Beach/Long Beach and Huntington Beach/Newport Beach makes one tasty location! :paddleersmilie:
All the best with your new business venture Andy!!! :cheers1: Match made in Heaven.
OC/LA folks, don't be surprised if LJ YTs move up North after him. :D

I sure hope so! I was gonna say "I hope he likes halibut fishing!", but with his experience, I'm sure he'll find an L.A. yellow on the yak before I do!

Thanks ALL,
Things are going very well. Finally got DSL, so I am back to the land of the vicariously living. You guys sure catch some big fish down there....Dan:D
I can't wait to fish up here, before work will be awesome once the dust settles. We are putting in some long hours trying to get everything in order. Every day this store gets a little cooler. I feel truly lucky to be doing this. I'll post some before and after pix of the store when I get the chance. I am going south after work next Tuesday and am planning on having the wife and kids come up the following weekend.
