Plenty of squid to be caught. Missed something big due to knot coming undone but scraped a few decent bass http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/07/11/2u5a5epy.jpg

Yeah I caught my biggest Sand Bass ever (20") on Tuesday with Live squid. I tried a new recipe, cook the seasoned fillet on the grill in a foil boat on a bed on melted butter, onions, and garlic, top the fillet with a bunch of cilantro and squeeze lemon over the cilantro .... flip once to mix up the flavors, put on plate and cove in veggies , really, really good.
Since the BBQ was fired up, I fixed these as my friend Cliff told me to and was blown away by the flavor, my first (but not last) calamari ever .....yummy dinner from the sea ....

Market Fresh Squid caught a few hours earlier. I fillet the bodies take out all the guts and plastic like spine. Use scissors to cut off the tentacles just below the eyes (wife doesn't want to see eyes of dead things) and squeeze out the beak.
Soak a few hours in a mixture of:
Soy sauce
Rice vinegar
Limes
Brown sugar
Garlic dried or fresh
Onion dried or fresh
Cilantro
after marinating an hour or so, I peel off the skins as they now come right off ( not necessary to do )
Then kabob them with pineapple and grill a very short time.
If you have never done this, then do it, you will not be disappointed.

seen a recipe similar to this recently... used sprite in the marinade, im guessing pineapple is the substitute for that and tastes better. will try soon. hopefully

Sprite, lol, never heard that one before .....
Yeah putting pineapple juice in the marinade is really good, it's just that, I usually drink it all as I am preparing the meal as it is tasty.
Also, try the fish recipe if you love cilantro as it is an awesome recipe.

Nice job. How far out were you and what depth?

going out was cake... coming in it was pretty tricky. the waves werent too big but the sets were pretty much back to back. halfway flipped / fell in. didnt lose any gear though.
