first time at hb harbor launched out of seabridge park got a later start than planned.... out on the water at 830am i heaaded out even though i knew the rain was coming. straight out of the launch a 14" and a 12" spot then 50 ft away a 4lb yellow fin croaker. decided to head deeper into the harbor hitting docks as i go ended up catching around 25 sandbass all under 10" and got a 10" halibut as well hit the bouy line and got a lizard fish:puke: then got off the water at 430 felt like florida but overall rather nice day in my book rain kept alot of the weekend boaters off the water which was nice:reel:

sorry no pictures phone was nearly dead when i launched

what lures did you use? My usual goto lures are bighammers, spinnerbaits, and carolina-rigged cut bait like squid and ghost shrimp.

thanks for the report...

Around the islands, I like using Bighammer 7 & 46 (Pacific Chovy and Larry's Heron).

For the eel grass areas near simply green, it's bloodworms, ghost shrimp or crawdad tube jigs.

Along the drop-offs near the buoys and the Anaheim river channel, I use live smelt that I catch on sabiki on a two-hook dropper loop. Along the banks to north-side, it's spinner and buzzbait time.

Never tried the Gulp Shrimp before at HH. That's more of a Bolsa Chica Surf bait that I use along with Gulp Sandworms. I guess it's always potluck depending on the bite.

Tight Lines...
