I'm thinking of adding a used, stock Penn Int. T12 to my hodgepodge of equipment for LJ.
Info isn't that easy to find on this specific model.
Anyone using or has used one?
Overkill?
Pros/cons?
Fair price for one in decent condition?
Thanks,
Mike

I fished one on a long range trip a few years ago that my buddy had but it was tricked out by cal sheets with upgraded bearings, heavier drag, and converted to 2 speed. It was pretty sweet.
pro`s
solid construction, cast great and smooth drag but that`s with the cal sheet upgrade. alot of power and american made
con`s
It`s a little heavy and I didn`t care for the cross bar when live bait fishing. You can have them converted to topless but the cross bar might not effect you as much if you are slow trolling a mack behind a kayak instead of casting fresh bait every couple minutes.
Overkill? What does that mean? This word is one i am not familiar with. haha
Nice bullet proof reel but with all the smaller, lighter, better casting reels that are available you might not want to spend more than $150-$200 unless it`s cal sheeted.

Thanks for the info!!!
If I can get it cheap then Ill buy it but I dont see a reason to do a Cal Sheets upgrade on an older reel like that when I could just buy a new one for a price thats close to the Penn plus upgrade.
Thanks again,
Mike
