My garage got broken into and my x-factor got stolen along with several of my gears (paddle and life vest) including my fishing rods. Kinda suck living in City Height. I'm looking for another x-factor and willing to barter my marine mechanic labor for it if you also own a boat as well.

Sorry to hear about that, sounds like you were picked out, my reasoning is that I own an xfactor and as you will know too they are not just something that can be picked up easily and moved, plus a transport vehicle is needed, it's a 14' long ungainly item. Ask neighbors if they saw anything? Hope you find something out.

That's the strange part, I live in an apartment with garage downstairs, no one came forward or saw anything beside I was out of town for two weeks, I have the police report and renter insurance. Insurance will cover but take time and they only cover the kayak but not the accessories I put into it. So it's like I'm starting all over again with new gears.

you ought to post pictures here so that we can see what they stole/what it looks like. A lot of extra eyes and ears on this board that may help you locate your stuff.
thieves suck.

Hey - sorry to hear about your kayak being stolen. Describe your boat so everyone can keep an eye out for it.
Be sure to watch Craigslist too, in San Diego and all the surrounding areas. I guess it will be hard to specifically identify your boat though. Maybe I will go write the serial number down on my boat so I have it just in case mine is stolen someday. If you have a homeowners or renters insurance policy they might cover it.

It's an older X factor in yellow (fade) with 7 rod holders in it, along with a custom bilge pump set up (automatic 500 GPS) with black plastic outlet, it has lorance adaptor, Scotty accessories, dual batteries in a orange dry box, nav and mast light set up, anchor pulley system, gts seat, custom build wheels, and AT fishstix, it have stickers (dive flags, OEX, big hammer) on each side, gator hatch. I hope that narrow it down!
Ill look while at the swap meet

that sucks! sorry man.. not sure if OEX down in San Diego does this, but I know the OEX in Sunset Beach has the Malibu Parking Lot Sale a few times a year. Pretty awesome deals, I hear.
I sometimes load my big tandem kayak on my car the night before I fish, and always worry about someone coming along with a truck and jacking my stuff. I put this tiny alarm inside the hatch. If anyone moves my kayak, the pieces will separate and make a loud piercing alarm sound.
They are very cheap, small, and pretty darn loud.

Thanks for the offer, I enjoy having good people like you out there, I'm a strong believer that you work something for it. I could borrow a yak to relieve my stress by fishing.
