What is the typical beach landing like at San Onofre. I've never done a beach launch or landing. Does this beach usually have small waves

Its a fanous surfing beach but ive sat down there and watched the waves more than once there's a spot where they die out and just jist roll in. With very minimal size.

Don't worry about it. It's going to be small on Monday. They don't call that place Old Man's for nothing. Slow rollers @ 14 sec. intervals. You could probably drift into shore without breaking a sweat.
Trial by fire is the best way. Just charge it and have fun. Just make sure you have everything stowed, stashed, or tied down. If you go, I'll give you free surf landing lessons and a video of your heroic effort!

Launched and landed at San O many times, it just comes down to timing the waves and not going on a big day. I always launched at church's, just launch where u can see the rip tide. Rule #1 stow and tie down everything!!! Rule #2 once you commit paddle like hell!! I lost my favorite fishing ball cap.:kayak-surfer:
