Short session in the big bay today. Bakers dozen at Tidelands between 7:30 to 10:30, ok morning I guess.

The Sand bass were biting pretty good today in San Diego bay. But the wind came up at 1030 and never went away.

Hmmm...I was thinking about heading out this morning but I figured that full moon would shut off any early bite....Now the question is do I get out there tomorrow despite tonight's full moon....decisions, decisions
Thanks guys!

I'd give it a shot. That wind was a killer by 11, but the sandies were chewing the big swimbaits this morning. I saw a lot of other people doing well also.

Depends on what you are going to be fishing for.

I'll probably hit Newport or DP...plan to drag around for halibut for awhile and probably end up fishing plastics for bass.

I would reverse your order. Fish bass in the morning and Halibut after noon.

You thinking Hali's will feed on the full moon?

I'll probably try DP tomorrow, late morning. I think I'll head out and find some kelp for a shot at some bass and some bait for halibut drifting back in. My last few times out have been unproductive and shore fishing has also been real slow for the last month or so in DP as well.

They bit today after noon. Evening bites have been good for me on and around the full moon.

What gregandrew said is true. My buddy landed a 48 inch halibut 2 nights ago. It was huge!! Never got an official weight though. Is there a chart somewhere on here?

Probably high 40s, but it depends on how it was measured and how thick it was (cause they vary a bit).
