Can never go wrong with Ballast Point OTW ;)
Seems like I missed the team lollipop beer and bait day! Here's what happened (for me) the other days...

11/8
Water temp 61-62
No swell and almost no wind.
I had trouble making good size bait, most of the macs were large to jumbo. But managed to snag up a few good ones.
Dropper loop fresh frozen and macs. 80-120 ft . No love. Went out to 130-160ft and found small rock fish-all released. Beats being at work though!

11/10
Went with some friends and their 6 year old on a 24ft boat.
water temp 60-62
No swell or winds.
We had chovies, dines and mini macs. Fresh frozen too.
Crushed it, decent reds and variety. Most were all with in 90-120ft.
At noon we anchored by the kelp, drank, fileted some fish for on the water tacos...epic.
Dropped a mini mac down on a dropper loop, my friends were using my braided set ups so I used a 30# mono set up.... so of course I get slammed and goes right to the kelp and tried to stay near the bottom. My guess :wsb: or big butt?? tried and tried and tried to free it, i could feel the kelp but also feel the big fish. Eventually after a good 20min :farmer:
The unknown. Next time...

I don't think I'd want to see how he 'releases' it.

that's a detailed report, but I like the posts with videos/photos of the fish you normally catch.
