I am on my computer and this is what it says.

Instant addiction. I can't stop watching it.

You should be nominated for an Oscar in best video by a Kayak Fisherman category.

You should be nominated for an Oscar in best video by a Kayak Fisherman category.

I can see it now: For best poorly edited random video from a kayak downrigger GoPro. And the nominees are (Crickets chirping).

Very enjoyable video Greg. What did you think as far as presentation after you saw this video, anything you would change? I don't have anywhere near as much time on the water as you, but I was wondering if it would help to have more distance between the weight and the bait?

That was amazing. Are you using a downrigger setup to hold the camera? Was that a Manowar that came up to the camera at the end?

Actually, I kind of like the way it is working. Halibut seem to be attracted to it, and BSB and Sharks seem to shy away. Still need some research on WSB and YT to make an informed decision though. Hell, some fish ignore the bait and try to eat the camera. Most of the Halibut in this video were probably under 10lbs, and while attracted to the struggling bait, would have had trouble eating it (size). Too long a leader has it's drawbacks too.

Great video. It helps to see what's going on down below and gives us hope that while we may get skunked, as others have said, knowing the bait was looked at make us feel better.

Keep on shooting, I love watching these.

Those are great video clips. Was that an octopus I saw get eaten by a halibut?
Or a squid maybe?

it was an Octopus not a Squid that got bit. With at least 100 hours of video of octopi following or attached to my bait, that is the first instance of a following fish interacting with either.

I think it's time for another video of you retrieving somebody's gear, time for someone to step up and send a rod/reel down! Make it a little tricky this time, vague coordinates at a pretty good depth and....GO!

I know of at least one more rod/reel down there in the LJ area - but didn't record the lat/lon. I bet there are others.

I have filmed a few rods on the bottom at LJ.
