Hey guys just wanted to share a little video sneak peak of the new Wilderness boats with you guys. Dave Easton and I had the pleasure of paddling these boats with the designer and PAL a few weeks back. Rock solid boats that will be a game changer for Wilderness especially in our area.

. Higher gunnels and a pronounced upswept and bulbous bow
Smart design! Tarpons paddle REALLY well but are not at home in the surf IMO.

Target specs are 14.5x28.5" and 15.5x30" from what i recall. Both were very comfortable to paddle.

Pricing has not been discussed as the boats are still in prototyping phase however when available i will definitly let you know! If i had to guess id say they would run in the 1200-1400 range as the tarpon 160 is sitting at 1120 now.

The boats will not be released until OR in August. These boats are still in ProtoTyping so that we can get them fine tuned to be the best they can be. You will not see them on the retail market until probably September/October although I do hope to have one before then that folks can set up appointments to demo.
I will however be at Fred Hall as will our Sales Rep and possibly Dave Easton for the Del mar show. All of us have paddled and had a part in the design of these kayaks and would be more than happy to discuss them with you.

These boats had hatches that were not production models so we really cant say how well the hatches seal. The boats being a prototype nature have pinholes and leaks in them making seeing this stuff hard to judge. Plus I played for hours in the surf and any boat would have leakage issues.
Overall I will say that you will find this hatch leaking to be non-issue :)
