A little report for the North here for you guys. I recently hit the Trinity River Near Redding CA for a little steelhead action. Well I didn't find the fish but found some fun water to Paddle. I was Paddling the Jackson Coosa witch is perfectly suited to fishing this type of river. Hope you enjoy.

That looked like a blast and the kayak almost makes it look easy. Thanks for sharing.

Dude that's awesome. I was a few miles past the Big Bar area in your video when my son caught a nice Salmon over the T-Day break this past November http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/showthread.php?t=20375
Was this trip recent? I was wondering what the flow was like up there after the recent rains. I'd love to yakfish part of that river someday. Great video and thanks for posting, I love that area!

This was earlier this week. The flows are holding at 300cfs out of Lewiston dam but there's lots of runoff entering the river. Crazy part is how clear the river still is.

Cool footage. Looks like a completely different game in comparison to Southern California; dry suit and helmet is not part of my wardrobe.
Rapid section looks fun and catching fish is just a bonus.

Awesome video! Looks like a lot of fun.
My mom lives in Redding, so I usually spend 3-4 weeks a year up there. I'm always drooling driving along the Trinity, but just never fished it. Now you've got me inspired.
We had some really good salmon fishing this past fall on the Sac. This fall I plan to do it on my kayak. Probably put in at Andersen Park and drift down past Battle Creek.
We'll see how this year shapes up.

Hunter, PM me when you come up, ill fish with you. theres some really fun bass ponds and all the lakes to explore up here. we're also putting together a multiway camping and fishing float down the sac this year.
Yea it's a little different then the SoCal fishing I'm used to but I'm adjusting quite well. Can't wait for our ocean season to open back up.

Yeah, sounds like a lot of fun! I'll definitely shoot you a pm when we head up that way. We'll be up there the beginning of June and also October.
Congratulations on relocating... I've been trying to get the family there myself! 20 years with the Teamsters makes it a little difficult to start over.
