How long does it take to get ready / load up??

Am about to start loading up for tomorrow morning (vehicle is 2005 nissan frontier). It's a good hour of prep / loading when factoring in everything. My ride is an xfactor. Was wondering what amount of time everyone else is at?

I'm at a half hour tops. I have everything stowed after cleaning in a cabinet and a checklist on my phone.

This is the same with my hunting gear. if you have the space for a nice cabinet or a place to put your gear after clean up it really cuts down on loading and unloading if your organized.

Also a good checklist will keep you from second guessing on your trip. I have read many posts where someone was driving >1hr to fish and forgot seat, paddle, batteries, etc.

I can get loaded and on the road in less than 30 minutes because I put in about an hour or more into cleaning and organizing everything after each trip. Once I park the truck I can typically have the kayak on it's way to the beach in around 20 minutes, the same with breaking everything down. I also organize tackle boxes, tie rigs, and perform general fishing maintenance during the evenings throughout the week as needed which saves time when it comes to getting on the water.

It takes me 30 minutes is the morning. All my gear is in the garage in the same area, frozen bait (when I take some for rockfish), beer and bottled water is in a fridge in the garage. I go out of the house carry my X Factor to the Jeep and load it up on the roof rack, load up all the gear in the back. Drive off in like 30 minutes but takes 1 hour to drive to La Jolla from where I live. That long drive makes it hard to launch before light. As I'm typing this it makes me want to be loading up right now for a trip there. Dammm!

Wow I guess I move fast. Usually I'm ready to go in about 15 mins. Yak on truck throw the straps on tighten toss paddle Rods and yak sac in and I'm on the road.

I got a nice big mesh bag I leave my "kayak" tackle boxes seat lifejacket safety equipment and dry box in. Everything I might forget... It's my bug out bag lol.

Most time consuming part is getting the 3 tie downs on but that's the nice thing about when I made my roof rack. Welded a few tabs on that make that a quicker task.

5 minutes, everything stays on my Kayak except the batteries when charging. I throw it in the bed of my truck and go.

Dang it must be nice to load up in 30 I store a jeep a tarpon 160 and a cuda 14 and 2 peoples worth of fishing equipment ,tackle boxes, reels, rods, gun cases and hunting equipment stuffed into a tiny 1 car gagrge. I have to move my jeep just to get the kayak out. I try to load up the night before so I get in and drive in the am

Probably a combined 3 hours during the week prior tying leaders, switching out hooks, getting batteries charged and op checking. 15 mins the night before to throw it in the yak and 10mins in the morning to load the yak. If I have all the stuff I need and don't have to re tie leaders and go shopping etc, then it's about 10mins to load up.

I can have everything in and on my Golf in 20 minutes rolling solo, 15 if I have someone help me tote my yak on top of the Golf. Setting up once I get to the launch takes about 40to 60 minutes to get everything put on and tied down.

How long it takes to load up really isn't the issue for me, that takes under 30minutes. Preparing all of your gear for the trip, that's a different story.

Almost all my gear is stacked next to my yak. I back my truck up to the garage, load my rods and paddle first, 2 boxes of gear, tackle box, and wheels. Toss the yak on the racks and strap down. I'm at about 15min.

Maybe 1/2 an hour for me. I keep, or try, my gear organized. And getting ready the night before really helps. I pull my car in to the back yard and get every thing ready. I can leave it there with out worrying about stuff getting stollen and leave in the morning with no hassles. Mike

It takes about one beer to prep my yak and gear the evening before. Truck is backed up to the garage. In the morning the longest part is drinking coffee, packing a lunch and visiting the pool.

I have everything in action packers RTG (ready to go). :)
1/2 hour to load kayak and 15 to get to the lake! On the water in an hour! :D
Probably considerably longer to prepare for LJ! :confused:

Bingo. Especially when targeting different fish. Or counting reel maintenance
