I would bet the haul is different like all the other older hobie yaks. The older one has less primary stability and more secondary.

That went way over my head lol which would be better? Newer or older? The new ones have fish finder transducer mounts. This one doesn't so I'd have to modify it myself

I like the newer haul for sure. My bro had an older outback and I had the newer one. And mine was a lot more stable feeling

Sounds expensive for an '06 model. I'd keep looking. You sure you even want a sport? At under 10' they are too short really.

the outback is an excellent kayak. at times i still wish i had it for a second yak. much better suited for fishing than the sport
